STAMINA, originally club closed, was created during the Covid-19 pandemic. The initial project for club culture premiered on 14–15 August 2020 at the objekt kleina club in Dresden, which had been shut down due to coronavirus. Our idea for the project is based on an innovative use of spaces for techno, dance and community in times of social distancing. As project manager, I worked with choreographer Charles Washington and scenographers Tinka Remlinger and Wiebke Müller to reinterpret the classic form of exhibition, theatre and fashion show in the context of club culture. The event was carried out with an officially approved hygiene concept. Visitors experience the club in the form of a tour through scenographically designed rooms. Groups of 10 people are in constant motion. Our vision is to turn this performance into a new form of dance event in interaction with visitors and the changing hygiene regulations for clubs.

Collection overview

The collection is inspired by the lighting design of a club. The rooms, with their strobe lights, coloured lights and sparkling disco balls, create different ‘stages’. Clothing for a night out at a club should also support the dancers' mobility and reflect their individuality. Based on this, I focused on the use of materials that undergo a multi-layered metamorphosis when processed into garments and exert a powerful effect on the viewer. The clean lines in the collection represent objectivity in contrast to colour and material. The fashion, developed individually for each scene, is sporty, animalistic, industrial, romantic and fictional.
